Where the jalong’s (streets) have no name!!!
Hey there again…just us…stopping in to say hello. Had another eventful and action packed day. Today, we hired a driver to take us around the southern part of Bali, where the nicest white sand beaches are. We started our day, whizzing through the crazy traffic, again on the wrong side of the road…gawd…it is ridic!!! We started in Seminyak and headed south through Legian to Kuta. From there we went to the Garuda Winsu Kencana (GWK) cultural park where there is a statue that stands 150 m tall with its wingspan 64 m across. This statue depicts Lord Winsu as the source of wisdom riding on the back of a mythical bird, Garuda. It’s absolutely amazing, the size of it is inexplainable…all hand carved copper that is so big, it has to be constructed in 7 pieces. Only 3 pieces are complete and has taken 70 years….pretty phenomenal. From there we travelled towards the monkey sanctuary and temple….conveniently for us….we came across a tucked away paradise perfect for surfing…white sand, crashing waves, beautiful turqoiuse ,blue water fully equipped with 2 tall, bronzed, rippling muscled surfing gods (built perfectly for Britt and Taya!)….no lies…we have pictures!!! We continued onto Uluwatu, where some of the best surfing happens in Bali. The size of the waves were insane…and seeing 60 or more surfers padlling out to catch the perfect wave was quite the sight….reminding us to pull our heads out of our asses…cause we ain’t that good!!! We travelled through Pecatu towards Nusa Dua where all the Aussie’s vacation in the posh resorts. The large amts of PDA (public displays of affection) reminds the single ladies of their status…not to mention any names or anything!! Cough, cough…Taya and Brittany…sigh! Ugh! The resorts and beaches were pristine and kicked the pants off Mexico and the DR…a must for everyone! Skipping a few things, cause my fingers are cramping…we then headed Jimbaran where we spoiled ourselves with a delicious, fresh seafood dinner on the beach, watching the sunset. Brit and Briana indulged in 2.4 lbs of lobster and Taya had king prawns the size of approximately 9.5 ladies shoe! (9.5 maybe a little big, but they were huge!) Breathtaking and memorable for sure. Then Headed back to hostel where you now find us, just chillaxing, taking it all in! Pretty big day, so tomorrow will be more relaxing with free massages and some shopping. All for now…talk soon…Love ya guys! P.s. Th hostel we are currently in is 'The Island" but we are going to Gilles Truong tomorrow 3-4 nights..This island is remote and doesn't even have cars on it...just horse and buggy...so not sure how the computer or Bri's phone will work...doubtful..but we will def...update if we can! Girls do rule Bev, bet Micky is shakin in his boots...xoxo Briana

Hey girls sounds like things couldn't be better. Makes me think I should drop everything and join you on your trip. Mom and dad say hi they are having issues with trying to post anything from their house. Other than that things are pretty much the same here. Stanley and Ren are enjoying their bonding time together. Stanley is taking a liking to the schedule that I have enforced on him. He eats like Ren even steals food form Ren because he is hungry. They have been on quite a few walks. There is one thing I can say about Regina.....the weather has been extremely nice for this time of year. 31 on Saturday and it has been in the high 20's this whole week. I did happen to go to Brit's old stomping ground to get a massage but nothing compares to Brit and her massages. He tried to get my knots out.....it was very uncomfortable especially with another "kid" there observing. (they were both wearing skate punk shoes. I felt like I was being massaged by some highschool kids. Other then that nothing else is new. I know nothing compares to what you guys are experiencing. Oh yeah mom says be careful when you are surfing. You guys should post some pictures whenever you get a chance.

Hey guys, It sounds absolutely wonderful, & you're not wasting anytime seeing it all. Can't wait to get home to google earth you. I'm @ work. Rather quiet & boring. Guess there was some excitement though, A semi rolled on its side just outside of Carlyle with hazardous goods so traffic had to be rerouted pretty much all day. No injuries. All the businesses north of # 9 were evacuated!! I really like the triangle idea. Are you doing that? I really hope you all hang in there because before you know the time to come back will arrive & you may not get another chance for a long time if ever to do this. So chin up give each other a hug.We are just loving to read about all your adventures. Most of us will never get to see this, So onward Ladies & discover for the rest of us !! love mom xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWell.... I think my last couple days are quite comparable to yours :) I think I have the H1N1. Ha ha! Close to it anyway. I have never been this tired and sore in my life, and no it is not just laziness!!! And I definitely repeat what Mel stated with needing Brit right now. I think you should fly home and fix my neck. It really hurts or maybe I will just go there and you could fix it!
ReplyDeleteTo keep you guys a little updated with news (or the news as I know it :)... You may have already heard that Patrick Swayze past away the other day. There was also a semi roll-over just by Merit Ford today. I don't think anyone was hurt, but they evacuated all businesses in that area because of dangerous goods on the semi. It is hot here (that's pretty big news) and the pool should still be open. Oooh and Whitney Houston is making a comeback! That's really all I know in the world of news right now! Yes... I know I am not very educated but, it gives you a bit of info on what is new!
I am going to try to look you up on Google Earth! Thanks for the hostel name! Have you girls ever eaten that much seafood in your life? That's a lot!
People ask me everyday how you girls are doing and what you are up to, so, keep the posts coming so I can tell them! I think everyone around here is pretty jealous especially me! Not sure if you could tell from the other posts :)
Hope to hear from you soon!
